FAQ
We're back! Here's the story! 8 years after RxR originally went radio silent from iOS devices, we've returned with a new sequel and we figured out how to make the original work again. RxR was taken down in 2017 over an iOS update which cut support to various required functions used by the Cocos2D game engine leading to the game no longer rendering. Now, 8 years later, RxR is back both as a PC oriented sequel (Rail x Rail 2) and as the original iPad app via jailbreaking and using older devices. Instructions are linked below.

How do I play the original? For the intrepid tinkerer, you'll need an older (working) iPad which can be purchased from a site like eBay. The iPad must be running iOS versions 9.0.0 - 10.3.4. Once you have the device obtained, you'll need to run two jailbreak programs and a sideloader to put one of the RxR iPAs on it. Afterwards, you can play the game.
Warning: Any device you do this on will no longer connect to any internet service or the Apple App Store due to security restrictions.

What platforms does Rail x Rail 2 support? Rail x Rail 2 currently supports Windows 8.1, 10 & 11 along with macOS (Apple silicon & Intel). We intend to support Linux devices in the future.
RxR2 currently isn't avalible on iOS or Android platforms due to it's requirements of various features exclusive to PC platforms.

Is Rail x Rail 2 free? Yes! Rail x Rail 2 is fully free and features no payware content or in-game ads. We do ask, however, if you like the game, that you spread the word of it to others to help it grow.
Along with this, all paid addons in the original RxR are now unlocked allowing you to enjoy the entire game even if you never bought any of them.
